Hello, I am the newly hired Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS) nurse. My office is on the first floor of Bldg 110 in the Parent Central Services Office, although I try to get around to all the CYSS buildings at a minimum of twice weekly.
I was born and raised in the Quad Cities and am a graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, Lutheran Hospital School for Nurses (currently Trinity), and Western Illinois University. I’ve worked in several areas of nursing, to include: Medical-Surgical, trauma Orthopedics (at the University of Iowa), private duty, and Pediatrics. For the past seven years, and prior to accepting this position, I worked as an elementary School Nurse for the Rock Island – Milan School District.
My new position will afford me the opportunity to implement health support services and assist with special needs issues related to all CYSS Services. I will work closely with our Army Public Health Nurse and help provide training to CYSS staff, providers and volunteers and ensure compliance with health related program requirements as they relate to maintaining DoD certification. I will also be responsible for ensuring staff/provider health requirements are met and that child health records are kept current.
I look forward to meeting and assisting you with all your child’s health needs as it relates to their participation in our CYSS programs! Please feel free to call me at (309) 782-2526.
