Mission Statement

The Mission of Child, Youth and School Services is to:

Program Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on the theory that play is a child's work. For these reasons, we believe in developing the "whole" child. The goal of any CDC, FCC, SAS or Middle School and Teen (MST) program is to promote development of children in accordance with the needs and abilities, and genuine interests of each child. Specifically, children must feel good about themselves in order to reach their full potential. The programs are fun-filled, hands-on positive, flexible, and educational. Our programs provide experiences which promote children's physical, social and intellectual growth and general well-being. Each child's positive self-esteem will be promoted by:

                    a. Enhancing social, cogitative and communication skills.

                    b. Providing creative, artistic experiences.

                    c. Developing skills for both large and small muscles.

It is our continuing goal to treat children of all races, religious, family backgrounds, and cultures with equal respect and consideration; and to provide developmentally appropriate activities and materials that respect cultural diversity.

We recognize that children grow in predictable stages and affirm that the rate of growth is different for each child and that these stages cannot be rushed. It is our continuing effort to provide an environment that is warm, happy, and supportive of the child as they move through the growth stages.
