Duties:
Responsible for the administration, safe operation, custody and maintenance of the self-help program within the auto crafts center. Provides technical assistance/training to patrons in the performance of self help automotive repairs ranging from the simple to the more complex automotive including overhaul of engines and transmissions and bodywork. Informs patrons of shop policies and provides instruction on safe and efficient operation of all equipment and associated tools. Provides individual and class instruction to military personnel and other eligible patrons. Develops lesson plans and prepares training aids and other instructional materials. Plans publicity. Recommends acquisition of new equipment. Complies data for reports and writes reports as necessary. Provides technical guidance and leadership to employees. Trains new employees. Directs work and provides instructions on tasks. Collects fees and safeguards funds and equipment. Orders equipment and supplies.
About the Position:
Regular Full Time Position. Eligible for benefits in the Army Non-Appropriated Fund Health and Life Insurance Plans, Retirement, Holiday Pay and Leave.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability and experience, or education to perform the duties of the position.
Experience and training that furnish the knowledges, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job.
Ability to do the work of the position under normal supervision.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Your pay will be set within the range specified in this vacancy announcement and will be based on your qualification, education, experience, training, and availability of funds.

May require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations.
Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) is required.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

Personnel security investigation required.
A medical examination is required.
