Newcomer's Tour

The Rock Island Arsenal Relocation Program hosts monthly Newcomer's Orientation & Tours.  These tours begin in the Arsenal Club of Bldg 60 with briefings of various RIA programs and services that are available to military and/or civilian personnel.   The tour then proceeds to a walking tour of the MWR services in Building 110 and the Fitness Center.  We then board a bus for a historical tour of the installation that includes the Lock & dam #15, the Clocktower Building, the Colonel Davenport House, and the National & Confederate cemeteries, with stops along the way at Outdoor Recreation and the School Age Services Center.  While on lunch break, participants are encouraged to visit the ITR office, the Rock Island Arsenal Museum, and the Arsenal Attic Thrift Shop.  After lunch, the tour again meets up for a ride to the Kingsbury Manufacturing Center where a walking tour is given of the facility.  This is an all day event and should be attended only with permission from the Newcomer's command and/or supervisor.  Comfortable Shoes and clothing are recommended.
