Position: Recreation Specialist, NF-0188-03
Salary: $13.00 - $15.00 Hourly

Position Status: This is a Permanent position. -- Part Time

Duties: Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning, organizing and conducting facility recreation programs for the MWR community. Organizes, plans and evaluate community programs that reflect community interests. Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community, including a variety multi disciplinary events, i.e.: social activities; tournaments and other major programs such as ethnic, patriotic and holiday observances which involve a variety of activities. Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments and equipment needed for program functions. Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.

About the Position: Regular Part Time (Guaranteed workweek hours are 32)

    General Schedule
  • Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.

  • Your pay will be set within the range specified in this vacancy announcement and will be based on your qualification, education, experience, training, and availability of funds.

  • May require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations.
  • Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) is required.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

  • Personnel security investigation required.
