Duties:
Serves as a CYS Cook in a CYS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards. Applies knowledge and skill to asisst in planning and implementing a comprehensive food service program that follows the policies and procedures of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Follows standard recipes and separate 4-6 seasonal cycle menus IAW USDA CACFP and Army policies i.e. portion sizes and meal patterns. Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing, such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables. Prepares hot cereals and concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies. Makes cold sandwich fillings. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, flouring or breading. Weighs, measures and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items. Mixes ingredients according to written recipes. Operates a variety of kitchen equipment.
About the Position:
Work involves continual standing and walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance. Employee is exposed to steam, fumes, odors from cooking and to extreme temperature changes.

Trades and Labor
Work experience related to the duties described above, that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment.
Experience and training that furnish the knowledges, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job.
Ability to do the work of the position under normal supervision.

Conversion of employment category (from Flex to RPT/RFT) may be accomplished without further competition in accordance with AR 215-3.
Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) is required.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

A medical examination is required.
Immunization screening is required.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 215-3.
All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI); to include a health assessment is required.
You will be required to show Social Security card upon appointment to a NAF position.
You will be required to provide proof of US permanent residency status.
Documentation to support Military Spouse Preference needs to be submitted at time of application.
