Army Family Team Building (AFTB)
______________________________________________________________________ ABOUT AFTB AFTB is a volunteer-led organization that provides training and knowledge to spouses and family members to support the total Army effort. It is a family readiness and preparedness program. Strong families are the pillar of support behind strong Soldiers. It is the mission of AFTB to educate and train all of the Army in knowledge, skills, and behaviors designed to prepare our Army families to move successfully into the future. AFTB CONTRIBUTIONS AFTB contributes to the Army mission by educating and training the Army family to be self-sufficient within their communities. AFTB consists of three levels of sequential and progressive training. · Level I – “Introduction to Military Life” This class is designed for those who are new to the military or interested in updating personal skills and understanding basic military culture and lifestyle. · Level II – “Management Skills” This class is targeted at emerging leaders within the Army community. · Level III – “Leadership Skills” This class offers training to enhance professional growth and leadership development for those individuals who may assume leadership and mentoring roles within the community or unit. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Developed to be run and managed by trained volunteers, AFTB provides professional development opportunities for those who get involved. Our program is always looking for new volunteers to instruct and/or enhance the office staff. Interested volunteers should complete Level I as an introduction to the program. A teaching background is not required, simply a sincere desire to help Army families be self-reliant and successful.
